Striking antique Noritake hand-painted teacup and saucer dating to approximately the late 1920s–1930s.
Bold yellow ground is contrasted with intricate black geometric and neoclassical-style decoration, creating a distinctly Art Deco-era look. The unusually graphic color combination and border design make this a particularly eye-catching example of early Noritake.
Cup measures approximately 3 5/8 in across the rim × 2 in high.
Cup bears the green Noritake M-in-wreath, Hand Painted, Made in Japan backstamp. Saucer is unmarked but has matching decoration and appears original to the set.
