Tomoyuki Yamashita would sign surrender papers — and September 3, 1945 is the exact date he surrendered Japanese forces in the Philippines at Camp John Hay, Baguio. This is a Philippine paper published on the day of the Philippine surrender, carrying both stories in one issue.
