WWII Named Bible – James Eassey
Original WWII pocket New Testament named to James Eassey, a U.S. Army Rifleman who served with Company C, 1st Battalion, 36th Armored Infantry Regiment, 3rd Armored Division.James served as a Rifleman (MOS 745) and joined Company C as a replacement during the fighting in Germany. His combat service included the Siegfried Line/Stolberg–Aachen area, Rhineland/Roer River operations, Obergeich and Hoven.During the Battle of the Bulge, Company C fought through the Hotton, Hazeille and Amonines areas of Belgium. James was reported Missing in Action near Amonines on December 23, 1944 and was subsequently confirmed as a German Prisoner of War. Records associated with his POW experience document bullet wounds to his arm.James was held at Stalag XIII-D, Nürnberg-Langwasser, and later Stalag XIII-C, Hammelburg, before returning to Allied control in 1945.
