This beautiful cotton 1860\'s/1870\'s red and cheddar orange tree quilt is hand appliqued and handquilted, with an inner floral border surrounded by three straight borders.
It measures 70\" X 88\" and is in good condition, with light surface dirt in places, age spotting in places, and color loss in some of the green applique (see pics) . The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall.
There is quilting around the applique in a ripple pattern, and in straight line and grid design in the background, all at 8 stitches to the inch.
The back is white, the hand stitched binding is rolled over from the front, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
The VIBRANT COLORS and UNUSUAL DESIGN make this 19th century COLLECTOR\'S QUILT stand out!
