Original antique Harris & Ewing, Washington, D.C. photographic portrait of President Warren G. Harding, personally inscribed to Harry H. Tammen, publisher of the Denver Post and one of the most influential newspaper publishers in the American West during the early twentieth century.
The inscription includes the phrase, “With the cordial greetings and good wishes of one of the Fourth Estate,” a noteworthy reference to the historic term for the press and newspapers. This personalized inscription reflects the professional relationship between President Harding and Harry H. Tammen, making this far more significant than a standard presidential portrait.
This is an original silver gelatin photograph mounted on its original presentation board and measures approximately 13 x 9 inches. The reverse retains its original Kendrick Bellamy Co., Denver label, the respected Denver art dealer and framer that handled fine presentation photographs during the period.
