Rare WWII USAAF "Hell Hawks" 365th Fighter Group & 388th Fighter Squadron History & Reunion Ephemera Lot
This sale is for a significant collection of historical documents and veteran materials belonging to the 365th Fighter Group, famously known as the "Hell Hawks." Part of the 9th Air Force, this group was instrumental in providing close air support across Europe, flying the P-47 Thunderbolt.
This Lot Includes:
• 388th Fighter Squadron Operational Summary (15 May 1943 – 27 June 1945): A comprehensive bound history covering the squadron’s entire European activation. Includes detailed "Stations" lists for the USA, British Isles, France (post-D-Day), Belgium, and Germany. It contains movement orders, campaign summaries, and squadron history.
• 365th Fighter Group Association Directory (February 1993): A rare member roster featuring names, addresses, and squadron assignments (386th, 387th, 388th) for surviving veterans at the time.
• Two (2) Reunion Commemorative Booklets: * September 2000 (Blue): Featuring the Hell Hawks insignia.
• Louisville, KY Reunion (Yellow): Includes "81 Years Young" photos, 387th group photos, and images of the veterans and their wives.
• Hell Hawks Window Decal/Sticker: A vintage 365th Fighter Group "Europe 1943-1945" logo featuring the iconic diving hawk.
