Original WWII scrapbook/archive belonging to Kenneth Jack Allen of Knoxville, Tennessee. This scrapbook documents Allen\'s military service beginning with his induction into the U.S. Army in March 1944 and contains a wide variety of original wartime material assembled during and after his service. This piece was acquired from the liquidation of a military museum collection, providing excellent provenance, although the exact history is unknown.
Contents include induction and military paperwork, Certificate of Fitness, Infantry Replacement Training Center certificate from Camp Blanding, Florida, military correspondence, telegrams, transportation tickets, visitor passes, maps, camp handbooks, postcards, newspaper clippings, military photographs, rank insignia, and various wartime souvenirs. Several photographs are identified by name, and many documents remain associated with Kenneth Allen throughout the scrapbook.
Notable items include a newspaper clipping referencing Pfc. Kenneth J. Allen receiving the Bronze Star for meritorious service, original training camp photographs, Camp Swift and Camp Blanding material, War Department correspondence, family allowance documents, and other personal military ephemera.
