WW2 Imperial Japanese Military Sake Cup Wrapped in Original Wartime Newspaper For Sale

This listing is for one wrapped cup that will be picked AT RANDOM. Each cup is the same design as shown in the listing photos. I would suggest not unwrapping the cup, as this hurts the value. However, it’s ultimately up the buyer.The story behind the “Sake Cup Hoard”.A box of military sake cups was found in 2020 at a closed down ceramic shop in Japan. It consisted of well over 600 cups still individually wrapped in newspaper dating back to 1938 and 1939 (during the Second Sino-Japanese War). Some of the newspaper have been extremely well preserved, and the cups wrapped in them were in mint condition.The design shows the Army rising sun flag crossed with the Japanese national flag, the IJA star insignia, and the kanji 記念 which translates to memorial/commemoration.
