Vintage Yorkraft, Inc. Red Lyon Tavern wooden wall sign from York, Pennsylvania, featuring a striking red heraldic lion against a dark antiqued wood background.
The original paper history label remains attached to the back and is marked Copyright 1962 by Yorkraft, Inc., York, PA. The label explains the history of the Red Lion, sometimes spelled "Lyon," as a traditional tavern and inn symbol brought to colonial America from Britain.
Yorkraft was known for its Early American decorative pieces during the mid-20th century, making this a great example of vintage Colonial Revival and Americana décor.
