Unusual vintage windproof pocket lighter with a heavy copper-colored metal caseand distinctive hinged protective hood.
The front is embossed with a large spread-wing eagle above an architecturalemblem and wording that appears to read:
THREE TIGERWINDPROOF LIGHTERMADE IN WB 1929
Please note that the "1929" is being reported exactly as it appears on the lighter.It has not been independently established that 1929 represents the actual year ofmanufacture.
The lighter has an interesting windproof design with a hinged upper hood,central enclosed burner/wick assembly and mechanical ignition components.
The reverse retains traces of a faded printed or transferred design that is nowlargely worn away.
I was unable to locate another exact example of this Three Tiger windproof lighterin current listings or indexed sold results. Because of that, this appears to be ascarce lighter, although no specific manufacturer history or exact production dateis being claimed.
Excellent display piece for collectors of vintage cigarette lighters, windprooflighters, tobacco accessories, mechanical pocket lighters and unusual advertisingor novelty lighters.
