The logo was designed by Paul Rand in 1986, commissioned by Steve Jobs for $100,000 after Jobs left Apple to found NeXT. Rand delivered a single proposal — a black cube tilted at exactly 28 degrees with the company name broken across two lines — and it became one of the most studied corporate identities in graphic design.NeXT was acquired by Apple in 1996. Its operating system became the foundation of macOS, and the acquisition returned Jobs to Apple. Original NeXT promotional material from the company’s decade of independence is considerably scarcer than comparable Apple items.Condition: New old stock, unopened in original sealed packaging.
