Offered for sale here is an authentic VIP desk model of the Convair F-102A Delta Dagger. The F-102 was the USAF's premier interceptor, introduced into service in 1956, and serving in both front line and Air National Guard units through the mid 1970s. 1,000 Delta Daggers were built.
This model - believed to be 1/72nd scale - was manufactured by the Walter J. Hyatt Co. for Convair (General Dynamics), and given to pilots and deserving VIPs. The aircraft measures approximately 11" long, 6" wide, and 3" high. It is connected to its display base by a ball and socket fixture, which allows the model to be displayed at various angles and/or directions.
As the photos will reflect, the overall condition of the model is good to very good, exhibiting typical wear of an item of this age. All decals are intact, and exhibit yellowing...again, typical. There are a few items that would need addressing, primary among these is a small chip of the port wingtip. There is also some chipping of the black anti-glare paint on the nose and port intake. Surprisingly, the pitot tube is intact and in good shape...something I've seldom seen in similar models. These issues do not detract from the overall quality of the model, and could be easily addressed if the buyer desired to do so.
The model will be carefully packaged and shipped via USPS Priority Mail to any address in the US. International buyers are welcome, but would be liable for any additional shipping fees. Happy to answer any questions that you might have on this item, and I invite you to check out my other offerings. Thanks for looking...and Fly Navy!
