The Shiba cookware collection is a minimalist, mirror-polished stainless steel and aluminum line designed by Naoto Fukasawa for Alessi in 2011. Named after the Japanese dog breed as an everyday domestic companion, the tightly edited series features the essential pieces a family of 4 might need. Big enough to cook for a family of 4, yet small enough to keep out on the cooktop. Beautiful wood handles with surprising durability, they hold up well over time. Mine have been used regularly for more than 10 years and still look great. Use care not to cook on high heat (a good general rule) Easily the equivalent of the best AllClad and Made in but these are boutique cookware that are an absolute pleasure to look at. Tri-ply construction ensures rapid and even heat transfer. Works on induction stovetops- I tested the bottom with a magnet to be sure.
