Unique vintage footed copper trinket or keepsake box featuring a reverse-engraved printing plate as the lid.
The lettering is intentionally engraved backward because the plate was originally designed to transfer the wording correctly when inked and pressed onto paper. Portions of the inscription reference Saturday, March 2, 1957, an evening event, caterers, and the Empire Room.
The box has a hinged lid and four small ball feet. It weighs approximately 18 ounces.
Pre-owned vintage condition with substantial natural patina, tarnish, discoloration, scratches, surface wear, and areas of blue-green oxidation. The piece appears handmade and shows variations around the seams and construction. Please examine all photographs closely for the exact condition.
