I am selling a signed Sam Sambasile4x6 photograph.
During World War II, Sambasile [1925-2017] was stationed in Bury St. Edwards, England as part of the 94th Bomb Group, where he served as waist gunner in a B-17.
His B-17 was shot down on the their 34th mission while flying over Berlin on October 6-1944. He was captured and spent 8 months in a German POW (Stalag) Camp.
He was liberated in June of 1945 by Russian and American Forces and subsequently returned home. He received several medals for various air campaigns along with an Honorable Discharge from the Service.
