• Garman Hertzler is actually J.G. (John Garman) Hertzler, aka General Martok. According to showrunner Ira Steven Behr, Hertzler was cast because the producers needed an actor of Auberjonois's caliber and opted to go with someone they were familiar with. To differentiate Laas from Martok, Hertzler chose to be credited onscreen as "Garman Hertzler”.
