You are looking at a very rare Heuer I.F.R (Instrument Flight Rules) stopwatch, likely from the 1960s or 70s. This stopwatch pre-dates the TAG Heuer merger. You don\'t see this model often. I have only had one in 30 years of collecting. These were specifically designed to be mounted directly into the instrument panel of an aircraft. Pilots used them for \"dead reckoning\" navigation and timing maneuvers—crucial back when GPS wasn\'t around to do the heavy lifting. I am a watch collector who owns over 500 TAG Heuer watches. I currently have quite a few for sale. It was simply time to clean out the closet. There is no crystal. The back casing plate is in very good condition with some old residue on the back that should come off. The sides of the piece look very good with light scratching. The bezel is in very good condition with light scratches. The hands show some patina and paint loss. The hour markers show Tritium degradation. I would rate this survivor as a solid 8 out of 10 in condition (as compared to other models). These are hard to grade since you don\'t see many for sale. This is the nicest example of a used original bolt-on dashboard Heuer that I have seen. Most are beat up, but not this one. All functions work properly. -The Dial: Note the \"0\" at the top instead of a 12. This is a decimal timer, which divides the minute into 100 parts (or the hour into decimal units). This made calculations much easier for pilots and engineers.
-The Markings: The \"T < 25mc\" near the 6 o\'clock position indicates that the luminous paint on the hands and markers contains Tritium, with a radioactivity level of less than 25 millicuries. While standard for the era, the lume has likely faded to that nice \"pumpkin\" or cream patina you see now.
-The Mount: The square backplate with four holes is a standard Aeronautical Standard (AS) mount, designed to screw right into a cockpit dashboard.
-The Brand: This is from the \"Pre-TAG\" era (before TAG acquired Heuer in 1985), which makes it significantly more collectible to enthusiasts.My response speaks for itself! I have sold 1000s of TAGs that have been well cared for.
