Very Good Condition. This official air race program is a rare, vintage find. The October 1974 California National Air Races in Mojave were part of a popular Reno-style racing series held at the desert location during the 1970s. The Mojave races ran from 1973 to 1979.
Classes Featured: Unlimiteds, T-6s, Formula-1s, biplanes, and special jet races.
Conditions: The venue was known for extreme temperatures and constant desert winds.
Unlimited Winner: Mac McClain won the Unlimited class event in 1974 (he also won in 1976).
Jet Program: The 1974 event still included high-speed jet races, a feature dropped later in the decade.
Aircraft: Famous modified warbirds like P-51 Mustangs and rare racers frequently competed on the wide Mojave runways.
