NOS Parker Emerald Green Pearl Vacumatic Junior Fountain Pen – Striped Laminate
Offered here is a beautiful New Old Stock (NOS) Parker Vacumatic Junior fountain pen in Emerald Green Pearl striped laminate. The pen measures approximately 4.75" in length with the cap on.
To the best of my knowledge this is a 1947 Junior model Vacumatic. The Parker Vacumatic was one of Parker's most important and innovative fountain pens, introduced in the early 1930s. Unlike traditional sac-filled pens, the Vacumatic used a diaphragm-operated vacuum filling system that drew ink directly into the barrel, while its laminated celluloid construction gave the pens their distinctive striped, translucent appearance.
This particular pen is New Old Stock and has never been filled with ink. It appears to have remained unused since it was manufactured, making it an especially interesting example for a Parker collector. The Emerald Green Pearl striped laminate is an attractive and distinctive Vacumatic finish, and the Junior size makes it a particularly nice, practical vintage Parker.
Please note regarding restoration: Although this pen is NOS and has never been filled with ink, it is important to remember that a fountain pen can require servicing simply because of its age. The Vacumatic's internal filling mechanism contains components—particularly the diaphragm—that can deteriorate, harden, or become brittle over many decades, even when a pen has never been used. Consequently, the filling mechanism may require repair or restoration before the pen can be filled and used normally. This is not unusual with vintage Vacumatics and should be taken into consideration by the buyer.
