This is a replica NEDA 926 12 volt battery 'container'. It's refillable with 8 USER SUPPLIED standard alkaline C cell batteries. They are wired in series to provide a nominal 12VDC output at the terminals. The battery measures 4.9" high X 5.3" wide and 2.9" thick, same as the standard NEDA 926. The case and internal structure is 3D printed, with battery terminals and wiring added. There are authentic #8 brass knurled nuts for the external connections. This item replaces NEDA 926 batteries previously made by Rayovac, Eveready, and Duracell, which are no longer available. The original batteries had a capacity of 7 to 8 amp/hours (7000 to 8000 mah). The 926 replica can reach the same capacity when filled with 8 quality standard C cell batteries.
Historically, the popular Rayovac 926 was used in heavy duty hand held spotlights, Aviation and Marine emergency beacons, early railroad lanterns, remote test equipment (field galvanometers, surveying tools, and communication line-testers. A very popular use was in mining telephones, such as the Femco Mining Telephone. Some models used a single 12 volt battery, others used two.
Note: This battery can be used anywhere a 12 volt DC power source is needed, but please limit the maximum current to 2 amps. Please don't try to start your car with these!! Current beyond this, or a short circuit may damage the device. Zapwidgets is not responsible for misuse of the battery.
Also, when installing the base, be careful to not over tighten the 8/32 screws!!
