The year 1999; the department store Harrods celebrates its 150th anniversary. Montegrappa is among the prestigious enterprises commissioned for the celebration of this world event. The superb limited edition that bears the name of the famous department store in London, represents the perfect combination of the most exclusive materials and the most sophisticated production techniques used in the pen manufacturing industry. The design of the buildings fa'ade dominates the central part of the pens body with the design of the wrought iron windows as background.
The glorious name Harrods appears in high-relief on the button placed on the top of the cap. The individual number, which renders every single pen unique, is engraved on the blinded cap. The logo Harrods Knightsbridge and the years of the anniversary, 1849-1999, are engraved with a laser beam on the ring of the cap.
The pen's body, the result of eight time-consuming, deep drawing steps is decorated in low-relief, a Montegrappa exclusive three-dimensional engraving technique. The body of the pen is turned out of bars of a special opalescent green acrylic resin, especially created for the Harrods pen. The characteristic Montegrappa clip with a rotating sphere bears the number 150, in memory of the important anniversary.
The Harrods fountain pen, available in limited series of 500 pieces in sterling silver, it features the ebonite feeder, a piston filling system with internal brass components and oversized barrel for greater ink capacity.
