Beautiful antique F. S. Gilbert solid sterling silver tea strainer, made in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, circa 1904–1910. The handle is marked “G STERLING,” a documented F. S. Gilbert maker’s mark.This substantial strainer features an ornate late Victorian/Edwardian floral and scroll handle with a deep perforated bowl and decorative fluted rim. The intricate raised detailing remains crisp and gives the piece an elegant turn-of-the-century appearance.Measures approximately 7 inches long and weighs 1.80 oz / 51 grams. Solid sterling silver, not silverplate.In very good to excellent antique condition with light surface marks and patina consistent with its 100+ year age. Decorative details remain beautifully defined with no significant bends, cracks, or damage noted.A wonderful piece of early American sterling from a New England silversmith.
