The Fourth Doctor is anincarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the BBC science fictiontelevision series Doctor Who. He was portrayed by Tom Baker for sevenconsecutive seasons, which remains the longest tenure of any actor toportray the lead, counting both the classic and modern series. Withhis disheveled clothes, long knitted scarf and wild brown curls, hewas considered to be the most recognisable and iconic incarnation ofthe Doctor both in the United Kingdom and internationally.
This incarnation of theDoctor initially traveled with Sarah Jane Smith and Harry Sullivan.Later he met and traveled with Leela of the Sevateem. During histravels with Leela, the Doctor gained a new companion in the robotdog, K9. Other Fourth Doctor companions were the Time Lady Romana,Adric, Nyssa and a human named Tegan.
"Want a jelly baby?"- The Doctor often offered the candies in question to friends,enemies, or really anyone who might like one! In the appropriaterainbow-jelly-baby colored font.
"Don't Step on myScarf" - The Doctor's long scarf was often prone to being trodupon; I believe it was Sarah Jane who invoked the quote in question.
