Mr. Toads Wild Ride ( Magic Kingdom )
Mr. Toad's Wild Ridewas a classic opening-day attraction at the Magic Kingdom, debuting on October 1, 1971. A key difference from the Disneyland version was its two separate boarding areas, each with its own track, offering guests a slightly varied experience depending on where they boarded. The ride featured whimsical, highly ornate plywood characters and sets that evoked the multiplane camera style seen in many Disney films.
In 1997, rumors swirled thatMr. Toad's Wild Ridewould be replaced by a Winnie-the-Pooh attraction, and on August 27, 1998, Disney officially announced its closure. The ride closed on September 7, 1998, to make way forThe Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, which opened on June 4, 1999. Though the ride is gone, tributes toMr. Toadremain, including paintings of Mr. Toad and Moley in the new attraction and a statue of Mr. Toad in the pet cemetery outsideThe Haunted Mansionin Liberty Square.
The two separate tracks of the Magic Kingdom version meant that each ride path passed through different show scenes, making each experience a little different, ensuring that no two rides were ever quite the same.

Robert Henry Gurr (born October 25, 1931) is a renowned American amusement ride designer and Imagineer, best known for his contributions to Walt Disney's Disneyland Park and its sister parks. Gurr is credited with designing the ride vehicles for many of Disneyland's iconic attractions, includingAutopia,Main Street Vehicles, theDisneyland Monorail,Matterhorn Bobsleds,Submarine Voyage, andThe Haunted Mansion. In recognition of his groundbreaking work, he was named a Disney Legend in 2004.
