This item is a factory-produced hand-painted military miniature depicting a British officer of the 18th Hussars during the Peninsular War era, dated 1814. The figure shows the officer in campaign dress with dolman and pelisse styling, saber, and shako carried at the side—consistent with documented uniform plates of Wellington’s light cavalry.
The miniature is mounted on its original scenic base and remains factory sealed in the original red Del Prado blister pack. Accompanying the figure is the original folded illustrated booklet/magazine produced by Osprey, providing historical context, uniform details, and period illustrations. The base label reads “Officier de hussards, G.B., 1814 – delPrado collection,” confirming authenticity and series attribution.
This piece was distributed as part of the European Napoleon at War subscription series, which is now discontinued.
