Dating to the early war years, this set comes fully housed in its original heavy, thick chestnut brown leather carrying case (which was later phased out for canvas in more humid combat zones). The front of the case features beautifully crisp, deep-stamped military lettering reading: \"SIGNAL CORPS U.S. ARMY / TELEPHONE EE-8-B\".
This unit is remarkably complete and features:• The original interior chassis mechanism with all terminal posts (L1, L2, T&BAT) intact.• The battery compartment lid with original stamped lettering warning \"REMOVE BATTERIES WHEN NOT IN USE\".• The authentic TS-9 handheld telephone receiver with its original heavy cord wiring.• The original leather shoulder/carrying strap securely attached to the case\'s heavy metal side loops.
Condition:UThis piece is in beautiful vintage condition, untested with spectacular battlefield character. The leather case remains incredibly sturdy with strong original stitching and a deep natural patina. The technical chassis inside is remarkably clean with no major battery corrosion visible on the face. The original rubberized hand receiver is intact with no cracks.
