A limited artist book reproducing Burns’ working pencil drawings and process material created for his acclaimed graphic novel Black Hole. Burns assembled the imagery from layered tracing-paper drawings, taped compositions and preliminary sketches, giving a rare look at the development of the finished artwork.
Issued in an edition of only 400 copies, with translucent vellum cover and hand binding. This example is signed “C. Burns” and numbered 00333, making it copy 333/400.
Also includes the separate pink illustrated Burns ephemera shown in the photos.
Charles Burns’ Black Hole was originally serialized from 1995–2005 and has become one of the defining works of alternative comics and modern graphic fiction.
