Truly a unique writing instrument, this version of the original 1931 Word Gauge was released in 2000. This is a special Reserve Nozac Word Gauge (Limited Edition 004/198 pieces worldwide). New old stock, never inked in its original box with leaflet: Color - Blue/Red marble. Made of Acryloid (a special combination of celluloid and acrylic which create a vintage appearance). This oversized pen (5.75 inches long) is 12 faceted and features a large two toned 18 Kt. gold nib. The pen uses a power piston filling system. The clip and band around the cap are 18 Kt. yellow gold. This Word Gauge has measurements engraved down the length of the barrel which allows the writer to view their remaining ink supply and to determine how many words it will write. It comes packaged in a special wooden case engraved with the famous Conklin logo. It formed part of a collection which has been beautifully preserved. The Conklin Pen company is regarded as one of the most significant and innovative manufacturers during the golden era of fountain pens.
