On July 14, 1878, Billy the Kid and members of the Regulators were confronted by Sheriff William Brady’s deputies at Blazer’s Mill. The fierce gunfight left several men dead, including the legendary frontiersman Buckshot Roberts, while Billy the Kid narrowly escaped, adding another chapter to one of the most enduring legends of the American frontier.
