AVENGERS #57 — October 1968, Marvel Comics. First appearance of the Vision.
The Vision’s debut, “Behold… The Vision!”, by Roy Thomas and John Buscema with George Klein inking. One of the most recognizable Silver Age Marvel keys and the character’s origin point.
Verified against the indicia, photographed in shot 10. It reads:

Vista Publications is the correct period entity for this title. Credits are correct for the issue. No barcode, as expected pre-1976.Original 1968 first printing, not a facsimile and not a reprint.
CONDITION — VG- 3.5. The flaws, first:
•Roughly 5–7 color-breaking spine ticks, plus a vertical stress line running parallel to the spine about a quarter inch in. Photographed close in shot 04.
•Several defined creases: a diagonal through the upper right into the cloud field, one through the logo at top left, several vertical creases along the spine side, and creasing at the bottom-left corner and lower edge. Shot 02 is lit from the side specifically to show these — flat light hides them.
•Gloss is largely gone.The cover reads matte.
•Interior pages are tanned, amber throughout. Shot 11.
•Back cover tannedwith light foxing and mottling. Shot 03.
•Staple rust.Brown oxidation staining radiating from both staples at the centerfold. Shot 12.
What holds up:
•All four corners intactand only lightly blunted. No chipping, no tears, no paper loss anywhere on the book.
•Spine is flat.No roll, no split, no delamination.
•Complete.Coupon on the back cover is uncut, no pages missing, no married cover.
•Both staples present, centerfold attached and lying flat.
•No writing, stamps, or water staining.
