Up for sale is a truly unique and historical collector’s item: an original, authentic Tefillin and Tanakh set issued by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
This set, issued by the IDF Chief Rabbinate in 1968 (Hebrew year תשכ"ט), marks a highly significant historical period: the 21st year of the State of Israel and just the 3year of unified Jerusalem following the 1967 Six-Day War. This specific set was carried and used by an Israeli soldier, making it a genuine piece of military and Jewish history. This is a rare miniature set, designed specifically to be portable and usable for soldiers in active field conditions.

1. Original IDF Tefillin (Head and Arm Units)
Type: Simple/Thin (Peshutim).
Batim (Boxes) Condition: Authentic and intact. The boxes remain sealed with the original parchment (parshiot) inside. The batim show clear signs of significant age, wear, and patina, directly consistent with their extensive history of field use during military service. They have not been opened or altered.
Dimensions: These are miniature batim. The upper cube measures approximately 2x2 cm, sitting on a base of roughly 6x4 cm.
Retzuot (Straps): The original leather straps and stitching are intact but show extreme signssigns of significant age, wear, and patina,
Protective Covers: Includes the original printed cardboard covers marked in Hebrew "Shel Rosh" (Head), "Shel Yad" (Arm), and "Jerusalem" / "Here in the Holy City." These show wear and tears.
2. Official IDF Tanakh (Hebrew Bible)
Edition: Special edition printed and issued by the IDF Chief Rabbinate specifically for soldiers in the field. The black cover features an embossed IDF emblem.
Year: Printed תשכ"ט (1968/1969).
Dimensions: Portable size, approximately 16 cm x 10 cm.
Features: The opening pages feature unit insignias and a special printed blessing to the soldiers from the legendary Chief Rabbi of the IDF, Rabbi Shlomo Goren.
Condition: Good vintage condition. The pages show minor stains and discoloration related to age and use.
