Antique 3-Blade Split-Back Whittler Pocket Knife White Handles 3.5in 1900-1930
Antique three-blade split-back whittler pocketknife, measuring approximately 3½ inches closed.
This is a true split-back whittler rather than a standard three-blade stockman. The spine shows the traditional construction with two backsprings and a tapered center divider, allowing the master blade to work against both springs while the two smaller blades operate individually.
The smooth white handle scales may be mother-of-pearl or an early synthetic material. Because the material has not been professionally tested, it is being described conservatively as unidentified smooth white handle material.
The tang marking is faint and difficult to read, so the maker has not been positively identified. Based on the traditional construction and overall appearance, the knife is estimated to date from approximately 1900–1930.
