This is a silver gelatin photograph that is unmounted and is 6¾ x 5 inches (170x130mm).
It shows a long line of uniformed men on motorcycles with sidecars parked along a kerb. The men wear heavy coats, peaked caps, and goggles resting on their caps. The sidecars are box-shaped and feature a logo reading \'Road Service\' with an \'AA\' emblem in the centre.
The reverse has a pasted typed caption in French dated \'13/1/38\', identifying the subjects as patrollers of the Automobile Association in England. There is a blue ink stamp reading \'13 Jan. 1938\'. Repeating stamps read \'Photo Wide World Service Phot The New York Times\'. A handwritten pencil note says \'Angleterre police motocyclistes\'.
