Plane Crazy Holo Uncut Sheet SMC 2024 Saturday Morning Cards Mickey Mouse
This is the actual press sheet the 2024 SMC Plane Crazy cards were printed on, complete and uncut, framed and ready to hang.
Every card position is still there, 36 across a 6 by 6 layout, joined edge to edge with the printer's working margin intact around all four sides. That margin is what separates a production sheet from anything else: CMYK color bars, registration crosshairs, and the print shop's own file line stamped across the top with the 63.5 x 89mm finished size and the 2024 press date. Nobody adds those to a reprint. They are there because this sheet came off the press and never went to the cutter.
The front is the holo run. Prismatic stars scattered across silver, Mickey and Minnie in the biplane repeating row after row, and the black and gold parallel column running down the left edge. The whole rarity ladder for the set, side by side, in one piece. Under a lamp it shifts color every time you move.
Flip it and the back is the complete card back layout, every parallel named and numbered in the corner exactly as the factory laid it out: Silver 1, Matrix 2, Stars 3, Ice Silver 4, Ice Gold 5, Gold 6, Black Gold 7, Black 8. Eight tiers. That is one deeper than Steamboat Willie, the set that launched the brand, which ran seven and never had a Black Gold.
The film is the reason any of this exists. Plane Crazy is the first Mickey Mouse cartoon ever made, drawn by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks in 1928 right after Disney lost Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and needed a new character. Mickey reads a How To Fly book, builds a plane out of the barnyard, talks Minnie into the passenger seat, and wrecks it in a field. First Mickey. First Minnie. Steamboat Willie got the distribution deal, so Plane Crazy was made first and released fourth. The silent version fell into the public domain in January 2024, and Saturday Morning Cards built one of their founding releases around it that same year, right alongside Steamboat Willie and Winnie the Pooh.
That release was capped at 1,000 cards, sold out on the SMC site within hours, and is now retired to their Vault. Silver base, Matrix /199, Stars /100, Ice Silver /50, Ice Gold /25, Gold /10, Black Gold /5, Black 1 of 1, plus hand drawn sketch cards. SMC has since grown into Street Fighter, Goosebumps, Terminator 2, Kool-Aid, and a standing booth at San Diego Comic-Con, which is why the 2024 sets are the ones people go back for.
Every one of those 1,000 cards came off sheets like this. Nearly all of those sheets got cut. SMC never sold sheets, never numbered them, and has never listed one anywhere. This one made it through whole.
Framing is a black frame with a white mat and a protective front panel, hanging hardware already mounted on the back. It is a clean off the shelf frame, not an archival museum mount, and I would rather say so up front. The sheet sits flat and fully covered, and it comes out untouched if you ever want to reframe it.
