Vintage Weekly World News “Bat Boy Captured” September 16, 1997 front-page display, featuring one of the tabloid’s most recognizable recurring characters.
The front page has been permanently mounted to a rigid backing board and appears to have a clear protective laminate/coating over the surface. This is being sold as a mounted display piece, not as a complete loose newspaper. Because the piece is permanently mounted, I have not attempted to separate the paper from the backing and cannot verify whether the mounted image is an original newspaper front page or a period reproduction.
Front features the large “BAT BOY CAPTURED” headline along with the classic Weekly World News imagery and additional sensational headlines.
The reverse is the exposed backing board and shows age-related discoloration, scuffing, residue, faint writing/marks and other storage wear. The front has general surface wear, edge wear, age toning and small marks consistent with an older displayed piece.
A great piece of 1990s supermarket-tabloid memorabilia and unusual wall/display piece for a Weekly World News, Bat Boy, oddities or pop-culture collection.
