Original Vintage 1996 Encore Lounge Restaurant Menu Marriott Marquis Hotel Broadway New York City Manhattan NYC
The Encore is one of the restaurants of the New York Marriott Marquis at 1535 Broadway, the Times Square hotel John Portman designed around his signature atrium and completed in 1985. The site cost Broadway three playhouses: the Morosco, the Bijou and the original Helen Hayes were demolished in 1982, and 165 people were arrested protesting at the Helen Hayes site on March 22 of that year. The city approved the hotel only on condition that Portman build a legitimate Broadway house into it, and the Marquis Theatre opened on the building\'s third floor on July 9, 1986 with a run of Shirley Bassey concerts.
It measures 14.5\" x 8.75\" closed and 17.5\" x 14.5\" open
