A rare opportunity to acquire an exceptionally difficult-to-assemble piece of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons and TSR collecting history.

Offered here is a 1991 TSR Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Gold Border Master Set covering card numbers 1 through 746. The collection brings together both complete gold-border retail series and the promotional-numbered cards:

• Promotional cards numbered 1–17

• Complete Series 1 gold-border run, cards 18–377

• Complete Series 2 gold-border run, cards 378–737

• Promotional cards numbered 738–746

This is not the ordinary silver-border factory set. These are the collectible gold-border cards originally distributed through retail packs, assembled with the promotional-numbered cards to form a master run covering 1–746.

According to Jeff Allender’s House of Checklists, Series 1 contained R1 cards with reported print runs of only 3,000 each and R2 cards with reported print runs of 4,000 each. Series 2 also contained designated R1 and R2 short-print cards. The checklist documents the promotional cards and their original sheet, panel, and oversized-card distribution.

Cards 747–750 are not missing from this gold-border run. The reference checklist identifies those four numbers as cards found only in the silver-border factory set.

This collection includes characters, creatures, magical items, artifacts, and locations from classic AD&D settings, including Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Greyhawk, Ravenloft, Spelljammer, and Dark Sun.

The collection is in good vintage condition and has been preserved as a complete numbered run. Because condition standards vary among collectors, please study every photograph closely. The cards are ungraded, and the buyer will receive the exact collection shown. Please review the photographs carefully to confirm the formats of the included promotional cards.
