This is a silkscreen print of a mosaic Christmas card by the Peoria, Illinois, commercial printer and artist Rolan Johnson. He produced these oversized cards annually from 1952 until his death in 2000, sending them to a limited number of recipients. &
• Johnson was considered one of the world's best screen print artists.
• The cards were highly prized by recipients as works of art.
• The artist spent approximately 500 hours on each design, which involved hand-drawing and coloring each individual "tile".
• Each color required a separate run during printing, with only one color printed per day to allow the enamel inks to dry overnight.
