Rare 10 Downing Street invitation card from June 1980. Size 11 cm x 15.2 cm.This official invitation was issued by Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and Mr. Denis Thatcher. It was for a reception held at 10 Downing Street on Thursday, 5th June 1980. The event was a formal send off for the England football squad right before they left for the 1980 UEFA European Championship Finals in Italy.The card is hand written to Mr. Alan Odell. He was the International Fixtures Secretary for the Football Association, giving this item excellent historical provenance.It features the official embossed red Royal Coat of Arms at the top. The card is in original vintage condition with minor wear as shown in the photo. It is a fantastic display item for political or football collectors.
