• SAN DIEGO, Calif., Sept. 30, 1977.....Unique playing cards that graphically depict some of today's and yesterday's greatest professional athletes through superb artist's drawings will be introduced by Cubic Corporation's SPORTS DECKTM Division when the 1977 World Series begins next month.

• Some of the athletes whose sketches appear on the backs of SPORTS DECK TM cards have added to the drama and excitement of the World Series over the years. Names, for example, like Johnny Bench, Jim "Catfish" Hunter, Mickey Mantle and Stan Musial.

• For the sports fan, SPORTS DECK™ means you can play bridge, poker or whatever and at the same time catch occasional glimpses of your favorite athletes of today and yesterday. Moreover, SPORTS DECK™ is an attractive gift or an increasingly valuable souvenir and at the same time a high quality deck for your favorite card games.

• The first production of cards features Bench, Hunter, Mantle, Musial and these other noted athletes: Arthur Ashe, Bobby Clarke, Ben Crenshaw, Lee Elder, Phil Esposito, Chuck Foreman, Gordie Howe, Randy Jones, Billie Jean King, C.E.
