It was primarily marketed to and purchased by the graduating seniors of the class of 1956 to serve as a high profile keepsake for both their graduation and the school’s 100th Anniversary. Thompson was supposed to be in his graduating class yearbook. However after a series of rebellious pranks, Thompson was arrested as a accessory to robbery just weeks before graduation and was sent to jail weeks before graduation and preventing him from formally walking or finishing high school. He joined the Air Force immediately after his release in 1956.
