Up for sale is a vintage 1947 Firestone Air Chief Model 4-A-10 tabletop AM tube radio. This ivory painted Bakelite unit is an excellent candidate for a full restoration project or a high-quality parts donor.
Condition & Functionality:Power: The radio successfully powers on.
Dial Light: The station dial indicator illuminates lightly upon first turning the switch, stabilizing to full, normal brightness as the tubes warm up.Audio: The speaker functions and produces normal static/humming noise when powered. [1] Tuning Mechanism: The tuning knob spins completely freely with zero resistance, indicating a broken or slipped internal dial cord. It does not currently change frequencies or tune into stations.
Cosmetics: The painted cabinet shows honest vintage wear including minor chips and \"flea bites\" throughout. There is one small hairline crack located at the top-left corner near the plastic dial faceplate.Completeness: Includes the original unpolarized power plug, both teardrop front control knobs, and the original cardboard rear backing board featuring the factory tube layout label.
Sold strictly AS-IS for parts, repair, or restoration. Please review all photos carefully to assess cosmetic condition.
