1923 Charles Darwin Descent of Man Yiddish Jewish Judaica Evolution Vol I Book
Scarce 1923 Yiddish-language edition of Charles Darwin's The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex, published in New York by Max N. Maisel.
The Yiddish title is Di Opshtamung fun Menshen un der Opklayb Beshaykhes tsu Geshlekht (די אפשטאמונג פון מענשען און דער אפקלייב בשייכות צו געשלעכט). This is Volume I.
Darwin's work was translated into Yiddish by Y. A. Merison (1866-1941) and includes an introduction to Darwinism by J. Arthur Thomson (1861-1933). The Yiddish translation was originally published by Maisel in New York in 1921; this volume is the 1923 edition, as stated on the title page.

Bibliographic descriptions of the complete Yiddish edition record 142 text illustrations across the three volumes.
