1891 Antique Natural History Book Pages Lot of 4 Moths Butterflies Insects Engravings
Wonderful lot of 4 original antique natural history pages from an 1891 book, The Savage World by J. W. Buel.
These are genuine 19th-century book pages — not reproductions or modern prints. Each page features beautifully detailed black-and-white illustrations/engravings along with period natural-history text.
The pages primarily feature moths, butterflies, caterpillars and other insects, including illustrations and descriptions of species such as:
* Brown Bear moth
* Silk-Worm moth
* Death’s Head moth
* Pine/Hawk moth
* Apollo butterfly
* Swallow-Tailed butterfly
* Lemon butterfly
* Night Hawk moth
* Oak Leaf butterfly

Lot includes 4 individual pages removed from the original 1891 volume. Pages are approximately 8” x 10” based on the measurements shown.
These have wonderful naturally aged, warm sepia-toned paper that gives them an authentic Victorian-era appearance.
Condition
These pages are approximately 135 years old and show expected age-related wear, including toning/browning, edge wear, small tears/chips and other imperfections. They are very brittle. Please review photos carefully for condition.
