Authentic 17th-century printed broadside from the Duchy of Savoy, printed in Turin. This document is a 1688 re-issue and enforcement of an older 1604 edict against counterfeiters and fake documents.

Document Structure & History:The text is divided into 3 historical parts:

1. The Original Law (Top): Issued by Duke Charles Emmanuel I on March 1, 1604, establishing severe penalties (galleys, death, asset confiscation) for forging royal pardons, state passes, and official mandates.

2. The Senate Review (Middle): Review of this law by the Senate of Savoy (signed De Torollier, Amblardet, Favier).

3. The 1688 Enforcement (Bottom): The official deliberation dated the last day of June 1688, reviewed on July 6, 1688 (signed by secretaries Provana, Roncas, and Pointet), officially reviving this law to crack down on a new wave of 17th-century fraud.
