The rear adjustment cord remains tied in a tight, hardened knot and has not been forced open.

Condition
Very good original condition for its age. The cap shows light signs of wartime use and storage, but there are no major stains, tears, moth holes, or other significant damage.
The hemp lining remains complete, and the pigskin sweatband, leather chinstrap, star insignia, and all four neck-flap loops are present. Please examine all photographs carefully for the exact condition.
