The reverse is printed “Postkarte – Feldpostkarte” with an Iron Cross motif and bears the wording “Genehmigt vom General-Kommando Altona”, indicating approval by the General Command at Altona.
Unlike an unused patriotic card, this example has genuine wartime postal history, with a handwritten message and address and a Bayreuth cancellation dated April 18, 1915.
