WW2 Italian Made Personalized Campaign Ring 800 Silver Locatelli Milan: $225.00
Approximately size 10.5 800 silvermarked jeweler made ring by Enrico Locatelli of Milan (“14” visible in the lozenge). Wonderful and one of a kind piece being last owned by Howard Bushart, a ww2 veteran from NY. The ring was made for a veteran of the Italian campaign in Ethiopia- the second Italo-Ethiopian war, as evidenced by the lion of Judah upon the cartouche- the personal symbol of emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia. The shanks bear the characteristic styling of other African campaign rings, highlighted in a brassy golden color rather than silver. Mr. Bushart was a surgical tech in the ETO during the war. He liberated the ring from the hand of an enemy combatant and had his name and date of service engraved upon the rear of the band. The inscription reads: “H. BUSHART, 43” (referring to the year, 1943.
