- Visor/Bill: There is a small 3/16 inch by 1/16 inch tear on the leather bill where the material has pulled loose and sticks out slightly from the structure.
- Wool Fabric: There are a total of four moth holes located on the left-hand side of the cap near the top. Specifically, two holes (measuring roughly 3/16 inch and 1/4" respectively) sit directly above the front vent hole. One hole sits just to the right of the rear vent hole, and a tiny pinpoint moth hole (about 1/32 inch) is located an inch past that. The first two holes are easily photographed, however the other two smaller hole would not photograph as they are much smaller than the front two holes.
- Sweatband: The interior leather sweatband is present but shows aging and has the beginnings of a surface crack.
Despite the structural and fabric flaws, this is a highly collectible large size (7 3/8) named to a full Colonel. It makes an excellent restoration project or historical display filler.
