Vintage U.S. Military AN/APX-6 IFF Control Panel
Offered is a vintage U.S. military aircraft AN/APX-6 Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) control panel, believed to be the C-544/APX-6 early configuration.
This is an original period military avionics component featuring the distinctive MASTER selector, MODE 2 and MODE controls, and the original red DESTRUCT switch. The rear of the unit has the original multi-pin circular connector, stamped J-501.
The unit retains its original olive-drab finish, military-style hardware, knobs, switches, lettering, and connector. It shows normal age, wear, and patina consistent with vintage military equipment. No data plate is present, so the exact production date, manufacturer, and aircraft of origin have not been established.
The AN/APX-6 was an early U.S. military IFF transponder system used on military aircraft during the early jet/Cold War era. The distinctive DESTRUCT control is characteristic of the original system.
Condition: Vintage/used; appears complete from the exterior. Untested and sold as a collectible/display piece. No claim is made that the unit is operational.
A very interesting piece of early military aviation and avionics history for a collector, museum, or aircraft restoration display.
